Aprenda a responder “What are your strengths and weaknesses?” em uma entrevista de emprego em inglês.

JOB INTERVIEW – Strengths and Weaknesses

Interviewer: Daniel, earlier you mentioned that communication and organization are two of your main strengths. Could you tell me a little more about how those strengths help you in your work?

Candidate: Of course. Communication is especially important in my role because I work with different types of clients and teams. I need to understand what people need, explain information clearly, and sometimes deal with difficult situations.

I’ve learned that good communication is not just about speaking well. It’s also about listening carefully and knowing how to adapt your approach depending on the person or situation.

Interviewer: And what about organization?

Candidate: That’s another strength that has become very important in my current position. I usually manage several clients and projects at the same time, so I need to prioritize tasks, keep track of deadlines, and make sure nothing important gets overlooked.

I like to plan ahead, but I also know that priorities can change quickly, so I try to stay flexible.

Interviewer: Can you give me an example of when your organizational skills really made a difference?

Candidate: Sure. A few months ago, I was managing several client projects at the same time, and two of them suddenly had deadlines moved forward.

I reorganized my schedule, spoke with the teams involved, and identified which tasks needed immediate attention. We were able to complete both projects on time without affecting the other clients I was working with.

Interviewer: That’s a good example.

Now, let’s look at the other side. What would you say is one area you’re currently working to improve?

Candidate: I’d say delegating is something I’ve been working on.

In the past, I sometimes tried to handle too many things myself because I wanted to make sure everything was done properly. Over time, I realized that this wasn’t always the most efficient way to work, especially when managing larger projects.

Interviewer: How have you been working on that?

Candidate: I’ve been making a conscious effort to involve other team members earlier and to be clearer about responsibilities.

I’ve also learned that delegating doesn’t mean losing control of a project. It means trusting the people you work with while still following the progress and being available when they need support.

Interviewer: Have you noticed a difference?

Candidate: Definitely. It has helped me manage my time better, and I think it has also improved the way I work with my team.

People have more ownership of their responsibilities, and I can focus more attention on the areas where I can contribute the most.

Interviewer: That makes sense. It’s good to hear that you’ve identified something you wanted to improve and have already taken steps to work on it.

Candidate: Thank you. I think being aware of the areas where you can improve is an important part of professional development.
